The only representative organization
approved by the International Aikido Federation
The Korea Aikido Association is the only Korean representative organization approved by the International Aikido Federation, which is a full member of GAISF, IWGA, and AIMS. The Korea Aikido Association began as a civic organization in 1991 with the aim of spreading authentic Aikido, and was registered as an incorporated association in 2001. In 2008, it was approved as a full member at the General Assembly of the International Aikido Federation (IAF) and was also approved as a full member of the Asian Aikido Federation, becoming Korea’s authoritative representative organization.
Our Korea Aikido Association has worked for a long time to accurately convey the true spirit and techniques of Aikido. It began as the Korea Aikido Promotion Association and was reborn as the incorporated Korea Aikido Association (大韓合氣道會), and continues to strive to create a place of human harmony (人和).
In addition, in order to raise the level of Aikido in Korea, we regularly invite renowned instructors from abroad each year to improve skills, and we also work to promote exchange and development with other organizations.
It began when Chairman Yoon Dae-hyun received instruction from Yasuo Kobayashi (8th dan, Chief Instructor of Kobayashi Dojo), a disciple of founder Morihei Ueshiba and a senior instructor at the World Headquarters Dojo (Hombu Dojo).
Aikido Charter of Ethics
1. The purpose of Aikido is the completion of mind and body through mutual training and refinement (切磋琢磨) with our fellow practitioners.

3. The Spirit of Aikido: Aiki means Love. To accomplish the mission and responsibility to cherish andprotect all things is the true way of Budo. Aiki also means to overcome one’s ego and extinguish your opponent’s will to fight. Thus, Aikido becomes a way to enable an absolute self-improvement by erasing the existence of the opponent itself.
