A Choice for Growth

Katori Shinto-ryu

Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-ryu is known as one of Japan’s oldest traditional martial art schools,
a classical martial art that has preserved its original form and spirit for centuries.

It preserves the essence of traditional martial arts by passing down not only techniques but also etiquette, spirituality, and training methods together.
Katori Shinto-ryu’s training values fundamentals and principles over flashiness.
Through repeated practice of precise posture and movement, distance, and concentration, practitioners systematically master the depth of this traditional martial art.

The training philosophy that has remained unchanged throughout its long history,
and its strict system of transmission, demonstrate the authenticity and value that Katori Shinto-ryu holds.
Tradition is not simply about being old, but about being carried on correctly.
Katori Shinto-ryu continues to carry on the true meaning of that tradition to this day.

Aikido

Aikido is not a martial art solely for strong power or fast movement.
People of any age or gender can train at their own pace and fitness level, learning step by step from the basics and growing naturally.
Aikido values harmony and balance over competition.
It is training that develops body and mind together, breathing and caring for one another along the way.

Even complete beginners can join without pressure, building strength, focus, and confidence together through consistent practice.
Aikido is not a martial art only for special people — it is training in which anyone can grow in their own way.

Aiki

Aiki refers to the principle of harmonizing with a partner’s movement and flow to naturally connect with and control them, rather than confronting them with force.

Rather than forcing power, efficient and stable movement is created through breath, timing, and the shifting of one’s center.
Training in aiki does not stop at learning mere technique.
It is a process of developing bodily balance, concentration, and a sense for understanding one’s partner, all together.

Strength within softness, harmony within movement. Aiki is a training principle that unites body and mind and perfects natural movement.
